FIREBREW Bar & Grill is the creation of Dean (Retired Master Chief, USN) and his wife, Sue Gonsior. Successful and experienced entrepreneurs, the Gonsiors were the Area Developers for the Tropical Smoothie Cafe (TSC) franchise, directly responsible for building TSC from an unknown concept to a household name by establishing 38 TSC units in the Hampton Roads area from 2001 to 2010. Seeking a new challenge, Dean and Sue sold their TSC units and territory rights in April 2010 and immediately began designing and constructing FIREBREW Bar & Grill, located in the Red Mill Landing Shopping Center in southeast Virginia Beach.
FIREBREW opened its doors to the public in March 2011 and immediately set the standard for providing unparalleled hospitality and superior quality of food and beverages to local residents and business consumers throughout southeast Virginia Beach area.

Talk about locally owned and managed! Dean and Sue are Lago Mar, Virginia Beach residents. They may have been born and raised in a south suburb of Chicago, IL - but they have called Virginia Beach their "home" since 1998 when they transferred here for Dean's last duty station before he retired from the U.S. Navy in April 2002.
Chef Aspen Caples
We are proud to have Chef Aspen lead our culinary team at FIREBREW Bar & Grill. Coming to us from a former "competitor" with a similar name more than four years ago, Chef Aspen quickly became one of our top performing line cooks during her first year at FIREBREW. She has since moved her way up from lead line cook to our full-time Head Chef leading a brigade of 10-12 chefs, line cooks and dishwashers.
